The Sing for Freedom Choir is a community of torture survivors and friends who sing together in a spirit of joy and hope, in solidarity with all those who are oppressed.
They learn and perform songs in many languages from a variety of genres, responding to a different theme every term.
Our current theme is Courage, in connection with Refugee Week 2026.
Founded by survivors at Freedom from Torture, the choir is now run by Together Productions, a Community Arts CIC working across London and Thurrock.
Rehearsals are weekly, Thursday lunchtimes from 11:45am-1:45pm at Christ Church Highbury Community Centre in Islington.
Musical Director: Ellen Muriel
Creative Communities Producer: Divya Satwani
Member Co-chairs: Jade Amoli Jackson & Jonathan Carmichael
