APPLELAND FESTIVAL
A long autumnal weekend of picking, pressing, feasts and fires to celebrate all things APPLES.
Apple land is a participatory micro-festival that began 11 years ago when the founders of Old Tree Brewery began camping and scrumping in small orchards around England and Wales.
Each year it's evolved and grown with the aim of sharing ideas and knowledge on foraging, fermentation, crafts, and ecological activism.
The result is a powerfully playful and participatory experience for apple lovers of all shapes and sizes. 3 days and nights on a regenerative farm in South Wales with all food included, and a seasonal Old Tree Bar serving botanical drinks.
Workshops, talks and walks amongst the black mountains, with stunning stone barns to play and party in, just 1 hour from Bristol.
Everyone is a contributor to Apple Land; it is what we make it.
This removes the common hierarchical structure of festivals and gives everyone an opportunity to contribute in whatever way they’d like to. It also helps us keep costs down to a minimum so we can provide a rich experience that is as affordable as possible.
We ask each person to contribute 3-4 hours to the running of the festival, which can take a variety of forms. There are cooking and cleaning shifts, bar shifts, and the chance to offer something to the event programme, whether a workshop, live performance or DJ set. It’s a great opportunity to trial a new idea, share a passion project with a supportive audience, and celebrate the knowledge and creativity within our community!
